Pathogen surveillance across supply chains

A multi-year program sampling ingredients at receiving, in-process and finished stages to find where risks really enter — and stop them there.

Program overview

Most recalls are blamed on "the supplier" with little evidence. Since 2017 we have sampled leafy greens, soft cheese and ready-meal ingredients from fourteen partner facilities, building a map of where Salmonella and Listeria actually appear in the chain.

Partners receive quarterly risk profiles for their own supply base, benchmarked anonymously against the program — plus first access to the genomic fingerprint library.

What the program delivers

01

Risk maps

Receiving-to-release sampling pinpoints the highest-risk handoff in your specific chain.

02

Early warnings

Seasonal patterns from the network flag high-risk windows before your lots arrive.

03

Shared library

Strain fingerprints let any partner check a new isolate against years of program data.

Approach & methods

Standardized swab and product protocols across all partners, PCR prescreen with cultural confirmation, and whole-genome sequencing for every persistent strain. Anonymized data is reviewed quarterly by our scientific panel and published annually for the wider industry.
